Product Description
Overture and beginners please... Strike up the band... Stand by for Celtic Thunder... and It s Entertainment . This stylish and high energy trip through some of the great songs of the last 30 years is pure showbiz! It is a tribute from Celtic Thunder to the legacy they have inherited from the great entertainers of the past, and a mark of how far they themselves have travelled as performers, in a few short years. It evokes an era of big bands and boulevards, top hats and tails and singing and dancin in the rain! It makes for irresistible listening as the principals from this generation pay their respects to the stars of an earlier time. In the true tradition of variety the music covers a mix of styles, of songs and of singers, as the lads salute their musical heroes- from Fred Astaire to Neil Diamond, from Jim Croce to Chicago, from Michael Buble to The Beach Boys!
Each member features with two songs, one a serious workout, the other a bit of pure fun and a chance to let the hair down! These lighter choices have George stomping around to The Proclaimer s My Life With You , while Ryan takes on the persona of a Chicago gangster with Bad, Bad Leroy Brown . Keith slips right into character with a Surfer Medley and Damian becomes a bit of a boulevardier with Standing On The Corner . Paul steps up to the plate as an accomplished song and dance man with the rooty-tooty Doo Wacka Doo , specially written by Phil Coulter. One big surprise package is guitarist Neil who not only joins Ryan and Keith in a haunting, close harmony version of Leonard Cohen s Hallelujah but also delivers a superb, soulful solo on the Disney classic When You Wish Upon A Star . The show is rounded off by a couple of ensemble numbers, featuring all six singers, the perennial Amazing Grace and U2 s anthemic Still Haven t Found What I m Looking For . All in all, this is an inspired celebration of wonderful songs and great singers, an uplifting feel-good package that is the perfect antidote to the recession blues!

I saw this amazing show when it was filmed for the DVD! Do yourself a favor and buy (preorder) it now! These incredibly talented singers will knock your socks off! My personal favorites are "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" (an ensemble piece) Hallelujah (Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, and Neil Bryne) and "The Surfer Medley" (Keith Harkin.)

5 out of 5 stars Music the way it ought to be   December 15, 2009

I was at both nights of taping in Toronto. These guys deliver every time. They love what they do and they do it well. Individually, they are very, very good, but when they harmonize, they knock your socks off. Ryan IS "Bad Bad LeRoy Brown". "Hallelujah" is wonderful with Ryan, Keith and Neil. Damian is adorable "Watching All The Girls Go By", in creamy white, looking like he belongs in an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Paul owns "You Raise Me Up" and "Doo Whacka Doo." George, the lone Scot, among the Irish singers rocked the house with "500 Miles" And of course Keith doing a surfing medley on his red guitar, was so appropriate for the "Surfer Dude". I had really stopped paying attention to music until this group of young men were showcased in "Celtic Thunder the Show." The musical director Phil Coulter has done an excellent job of selecting the right music for each young man's beautiful interpretation of proven covers and new material written by
Mr. Coulter himself. "It's Entertainment" will be a wonderful addition to your musical library.

I too was at the taping and was just blown away at the professionalism and song choices. When you find yourself rocking in your seat along with the performers, then you know you got a gem and at such a bargain price! These gUys have what it takes and let me tell you they deliver pure ENTERTAINMENT!

Have already ordered 2 DVD/CD sets and if it doesn't get here by 2/9/10, I may have to resort to buying them in the stores also. Just saw a snip-it of the new show on the Celtic Thunder website and CAN'T WAIT til the release date. For anyone who isn't familiar with these talented wonderful men, you will be blown away with each performance. They make music understandable and fun again. I've been to 5 of their shows now and was present at the PBS taping in Chicago. I've had the pleasure of meeting all of them; I can't tell you how refreshing it is to meet such genuinely dedicated and fun-loving gentlemen. They work so hard to present such wonderful entertainment and it shows in every performance. Phil Coulter and Sharon Browne have done a magnificient job in bringing these gifted men to us!

It's Entertainment! While the first two Celtic Thunder DVD's were amazing, It's Entertainment takes it to the next level! The set is bigger, and more elaborate, not to mention there are more dancers! The choreography is perfect, and the songs are timeless. There is such life in the DVD that you feel that you are actually there. Also, there is a bonus feature that is a must-see for any Thunderhead; it documents Celtic Thunder from the very beginning! This is a must-have!
